EDGARD "E* TERNITY" DEL ROSARIO'S BIO
International Salsa/Mambo Dancer/Instructor Edgard Del Rosario has been traveling around the world teaching and performing at International Salsa Congresses and specially organized events alongside the world's top dancers. He has also danced with some of the Greats of Salsa- Tito Puente's Band, Celia Cruz, Tony Vega, and Domingo Quinonez at NYC's own Madison Square Garden. Edgard is 9 year Salsa On 2/Mambo veteran, and is known for his VERSATILITY, SPEED, TECHNIQUE, MOVEMENT, FLAVOR & Musical Improvisational Skills. HE IS TRULY ONE OF NEW YORK'S SALSA STARS.
EDGARD was born DECEMBER 5, 1976 in STATEN ISLAND, NY from EDUARDO and NIEVES from the DOMINICAN REPULIC. Edgard has been dancing HIP HOP, Dance Hall Reggae, and Latin House in New York City clubs since the age of 14. Despite having grown up dancing Merengue and Bachata, Edgard never enjoyed or danced Salsa until he saw Seaon Bristol and Amanda "Estilo" dance one Tuesday night in NYC's famous Copacabana. Blown away by the style, turn patterns and footwork, He was determined to learn!
"I really enjoyed the first 3 plus years of my training with my younger brother Jose, who together we began the study of this beautiful dance. I really treasure their learning process together and am proud of Jose's Salsa accomplishments as well." says Edgard.
He started his study of Salsa/Mambo dancing at "DanceSport" professional ballroom in Manhattan, NY. But I acquired the "Heart" and essence of this dance from my Mambo Teacher, the "King of Mambo Dancers" himself, Eddie Torres. Eddie Torres is the pioneer of bringing this Latin dance to the studio and evolved it to the Professional dance it is today. See www.eddietorres.com .It is said that if it is affiliated with great salsa dancing "they learned from Eddie or studied with someone who learned from Eddie!" Edgard trained closely with him and became one of his principle dancers.
To compliment his training and see what other teachers had to offer, he and his brother also took classes with all the top NY and NJ Instructors. Including: Nelson Flores (Descarga Latina), Thomas Guerrero (Santo Rico Dance co.), Ismael Otero (Caribbean Soul), Amaryllis Cintron (Santo Rico), Frankie Martinez (Abakua), Seaon Bristol (Seaon Stylist Dance co.), and Franklin Diaz. DanceSport teachers include Franklyn Alaya, Rosa, Gildred, and Alejandra.
He was also inspired by many of the NYC's awesome night club dancers including Pioneers like, Vittico "La Magia." Dancing in NY's Salsa dance scene with all dance levels and styles attributes to Edgard's versatility and technique.
"He determined to be able to lead anyone no matter the style or Level."
He had the privilege and Honor to dance in the Eddie Torres Dance company which was one of his Dreams as a Salsero. Eddie was preparing the Tribute to Tito Puente Concert at Madison Square Garden and he asked E. Overjoyed at the opportunity, for not only had been "his dream to be an Eddie Torres Dancer" come true but the first show would be a Historical Madison Square Garden Sold out concert!! E also had the privilege to dance and debut alongside with his lifelong friend Allen Masis, who Edgard, Jose and Eddie had been all been training. They Performed Eddie's Fastest choreography "Timbalero," which was debuted at Lehman College.
In January 2001, He moved to London to teach and perform with his then partner Irene Miguel. They had been working together towards the later period of E's time with the Eddie Torres Dancers. They are the Co Creators of the project "Mambolifestyle"- the World's 1st Holistic approach to NY Mambo. Based out of the London, UK, Miami, USA, and Rosario, Argentina "Mambolifestyle" has touched lives all over Europe, Puerto Rico, and Argentina. Irene & Edgard were known around the world for their Famous "Street Fighter" Choreography, which they Performed at the World's Largest Salsa Congress in Puerto Rico.
Mambolifestyle is currently being taught in London, England by Irene, and they are soon to film the Video System to be sold on the Market. Edgard currently teaches in Staten Island, NY with some ML basic principles in his classes but has a more basic Salsa approach.
